Could The Governing Body Harboring Pedophiles In High Positions Among Them?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini'm sure most are familiar with the greenlee's story floating around the internet.
so what if some members of the governing body have been accused of molesting a child and used the 2 witness rule to silence a accusation?
so could it be that because some high up watchtower corporation person/persons has clung to the rule because it save's his corporate ass.

Historically, they admitted such in the Watchtower.
"Shocking as it is, even some who have been prominent in Jehovah’s organization have succumbed to immoral practices, including homosexuality, wife swapping, and child molesting. It is to be noted, also, that during the past year, 36,638 individuals had to be disfellowshipped from the Christian congregation, the greater number of them for practicing immorality." (W86 1/1 pp10-15, par.12)

Comments on the above quote:
Two groups of perpetrators are mentioned, separated by the word "also". The second group are the 36,638 disfellowshipped for " immortality ". Who are the first group? They are the "prominent in Jehovah’s organization" group. What have the ones in that group perpetrated? They perpetrate "child molesting". -

144000 The numbers don't add up
by LevelThePlayingField inin 1935 there were 63,146 who attended the memorial and 52,465 partook.
(proclaimers book page 717).
according to the bible teach book on page 78, it says, “since the days of the apostles, god has been selecting faithful christians in order to complete the number 144,000”.

True story: once, on ministry with a brother, householder asked if we believed ONLY 144,000 will go to heaven. He said "No." When the (clearly well-informed) householder looked incredulous at him, he was compelled to qualify his lie by adding "...we believe Jesus is also with them, so technically that makes 144,001." The householder closed the door, evidently realizing that we were complete idiots who weren't going to engage in any sort of rational Bible discussion. I politely offered to handle the next door myself...

Have you considered that the figures could be even worse than your initial calculation?
w60 5/1 282 "1926 there was a reported decrease in the attendance on March 27 at the Lord’s evening meal to 89,278"
A decrease!!!! Yes, that same article shows the previous year as 90,434. So, first century + 1925 = busted!

Foetus baptism
by Fay Dehr infoetus baptism - surely coming to a watchtower study article soon?
jw parents are reminded of 2 ti.3:14,14 "from infancy you have known the holy writings".
and the watchtower explains the greek word bre'phos "infancy" as follows: "...it is generally used of an unborn child.

Hi Stuckinarut2. You make a good point "technically they just need to be asked the two questions" - maybe a "simplified" version of the "Organized" book is needed, with the 2 baptism questions simplified for "unborn infants" to comprehend? Of course, verbal communication is not the only available form of communication. I only know a little about haptic and kinaesthetic communication, but if these little people are responding to songs then let's just go with this: if they respond to the playing of "Sing out Joyfully" songs, or even "original songs" in the monthly broadcast, then surely that is sufficient response to indicate their life-long contract to the Borg? Of course, if they respond to Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" then they're not ready for baptism yet...
To recap, when the elders "go through the questions", the "infant" has already:
- Attended all weekly meetings
- Been consistently present for Family Worship
- Regularly been out in service with their mother
- Remained completely silent (this indicating tacit approval) during brother Oldie's item when he asked "Does anyone here have ANY doubts in the Governing Body?" - Surely, a key doctrine these days.
- When questioned, the parents were emphatic that the "infant's" request to be baptised was entirely their own personal choice

Anyone care to speculate how the brother that is in charge of immersions will cater for that type of baptism candidate?
